Samsung Electronics has announced its flagship devices, Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge during the Mobile World Congress. But then, fans of the South Korean tech giant are very enthusiastic about the upcoming smartphone from the Note line-up. Dubbed as Galaxy Note 6, the gadget is expected to be launched in August this year.
Christian Today stated that if Samsung would follow through its past schedules for Galaxy Note release, the Galaxy Note 6 will be announced undoubtedly even before the IFA commences in September. This means that the new flagship device will make its first appearance by August. This is the same timeframe that the current-gen Galaxy Note 5 appeared last year, launching together with the Galaxy S6 Edge+. If Samsung will continue this practice, the upcoming launch would highlight the iteration in the flagship line-up together with the Galaxy Note 6 - the Galaxy S7 Edge+ variant.
When it comes with the Samsung Galaxy Note 6's specs and features, BREATHEcast reported that Samsung also announced that the company has mass-produced 256GB UFS 2.0 memory chips. Based on the report, the memory chips are intended for the company's high-end smartphones at some point in the future. The 256GB chip is capable of performing successively as it can read at up to 850MB per second, which is a sign of a turbo speed data transfer.
Aside from the memory chips, International Business Times noted that the Samsung Galaxy Note 6 might have a larger display with 3D Touch. This device might have a 5.8-inch with Diamond Pixels just like the ones found in the newly released Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge smartphones. This technology is expected to employ a slim RGB matrix AMOLED screen that was last seen on Galaxy S II. The Galaxy Note 6 will also have support for Quad HD resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixel.
This upcoming member of the Note family is also predicted to have a huge 6 GB of RAM. It is also worth mentioning that none of the major smartphone manufacturers have launched a smartphone with such amount of RAM. The Note 6 is expected to be launched in two CPU editions, one featuring an Exynos 8890 chipset and the other one powered by Snapdragon 820 chip.
The Galaxy Note 6 might a hybrid SIM slot that will also carry support for up to 2 TB of microSD. For the camera department, it might have a12-megapixel camera that may be coupled with "Super OIS Plus" feature that will include a 5-axis OIS system. This technology will be able to shoot stunning photos in dim lighting conditions.
Since the Galaxy Note 5 is packed with 3000 mAh battery, the Samsung Galaxy Note 6 is rumored to arrive armed with around 3500 to 4000 mAh battery. Lastly, this device might also have a phablet dock feature allowing users to fit the Note 6 into the dock present on a laptop like device. The high-end processor, 6 GB of RAM and 256 GB UFS 2.0 storage would power the laptop. The screen of the handset will function as a touchpad and when the Note 6 is connected to the dock, the laptop will run on Windows 10.
This information is just based on speculation and assumptions, so patrons of Samsung are advised to take this as a pinch of salt. Nonetheless, as the Galaxy Note 6's launch nears concrete details about the handset is expected to surface.
