Batman vs. Superman: The New Love Team

By

The world is ready for the team-up of the two greatest superheroes. Both are ready to save the whole humanity. Batman and Superman are coming!

Warner Bros. has whipped anticipation for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice up even further. In the trailer, the clip makes the most of its two-minute running time by packing in new shots, new lines, new punches and new voices.

Action, romance, conflict, bravery -- the trailer has all of that and more. The trailer did not reveal more about Doomsday's role in the film, but it featured more than enough totally new moments to get fans pumped up.

The Team-up

The trailer divulged some points of the plot as the Dark Knight and the Man of Steel working together to overcome the brand-new nemesis of Doomsday, who was revealed to be the genetic by-product of the fallen General Zod.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice can be expected to feature an elegant twist on the story of Frank Miller's classic arc, The Dark Knight Returns, and feature Henry Cavill's Superman being sent in to Gotham to try and control Ben Affleck's Batman at the behest of Lex Luthor (this is a big change-up from Miller's story, where the red, white and blue hero was working as an agent of the United States government).

It has being kept hush-hush why Lex is interested in sending Supes to take care of this mission, but evidently the alien "comes out swinging" when he meets the Caped Crusader. And by that, he will be flying down and taking out the Bat mobile with one punch.

According to Eric Eisnberg, "What's interesting about this new development is the fact that's it's kind of the opposite direction than the ones fans have been expecting in the wake of Man of Steel. Many have presumed that it would be Batman coming after Superman following the destruction of Metropolis, and potentially teaming up with Lex Luthor in order to do so."

He also added that the new rumored direction is equally interesting though it will require more narrative leg work.

The Weigh-in

Netizens shared their predictions who will win between the clash of Batman and Superman.

According to the writer, Kavinay Kishor, Batman will definitely win.

"Why? Because Superman is usually under mind-control or being manipulated somehow and Batman is called upon to neutralize big blue. Even Superman realizes his power could be disastrous if misused and so the only being in the galaxy he entrusts with Kryptonite is Batman," he shared.

However, in the website 'Who Would Win a Fight," it is argued that Superman would win the battle in hand-to-hand combat."

"He can kill Batman from orbit with his eyes, we are more interested in who kicks the most ass. Superman embodies the all American persona, a more polished mama's boy with unwavering values and morals while Batman is not only the most cunning detective on the planet, but he's also one of the most intelligent people to walk the Earth. He's honed his body to the peak of human perfection... plus he's straight-up bad ass. Not afraid to bend his idealogy to get the job done and capable of doing real, scary damage," as shared.

The Running Time

According to AMC Theatres' website, the film will last for two hours and thirty-one minutes.

This only means that this movie which has been produced by DC Comics and Warner Bros will be longer than any film from Marvel to date by almost ten minutes.

According to the Cinema Blend, "Director Zack Snyder "has a penchant for making his films run a bit long.Batman v Superman will last three minutes more than Snyder's previous superhero film, Man of Steel, but is ten minutes shorter than Watchmen."

Insiders predicted in their reports that the film may turn out to be a flop.

Forbes counter-argued that those concerns are likely unfoundedwhich argued that due to "presales, tie-ins and merchandising alone" Warner is likely to make a huge profit.

In the article of Marc N. Kleinhenz, "Given all the previous trailers, commercials, interviews, and press releases Warner Bros. and the movie's creative team have unleashed over the past three years, this is no easy feat, and it more than justifies an extended look."

The Batman v Superman: The Dawn of Justice opens on March 26.
