Rumors fly fast and furious in fandom as Games of Thrones Season 6 nears its premiere this April. Although many of the cast members remain tight-lipped, especially in matters about Jon Snow's supposed resurrection, a few have slipped tantalizing details about their character's development.
In an interview with Express, Dutch star Carice van Houten says that her character, the sorceress Melisandre, will experience some kind of "transformation." At the end of season 5, the lady had fled to Castle Black, presumably to escape the wrath of Stannis Baratheon who futiely burned his only daughter alive to win his siege against the Boltons. She could also be running from Ramsay Bolton, Winterfell's new lord, who would undoubtedly take her as part of his spoils. Van Houten says that Melisandre's faith is being tested, and that turmoil will place her in a "pivotal" position in season 6.
What von Houten will not answer is whether Melisandre will resurrect Jon Snow from the dead.
Arya Stark will still remain blind, says the Christian Post. The followers of the Many-faced God had taken away her sight after the would-be assassin reneged against orders to kill Ser Meryn, one of the men responsible for killing her father, Lord Ned Stark. The Post speculates that Arya continuing her apprenticeship means assuming identities of children to come close to her intended target. One fan theory has her taking on the face of the late King Joffrey to finally drive the knife literally into his mother, Cersei Lannister. Cersei is the ring leader who had Ned captured and his men butchered.
But what is stoking fan speculation big time is the spoiler that certain forces will mass against the army of White Walkers in a scenario known as the Great Battle. Moviepilot says that this ultimate confrontation between the zombies bringing in a new age of darkness can literally determine the fate of Westeros and the direction of the show itself.
