Australian hit maker Kylie Minogue announced her engagement to beau Joshua Sasse on Friday. The announcement follows reports of Sasse talking about his engagement during the NME Awards night, wherein the 47-year-old pop star presented an award to Coldplay.
On Friday, Minogue chose to announce her engagement with the 28-year-old actor through an advertisement in the Daily Telegraph. The announcement, placed in the forthcoming marriages section of the publication, read: "The engagement is announced between Joshua, son of the late Dominic Sasse and of Mary Heale (nee Macauley), of Herefordshire, and Kylie, eldest daughter of Ronald and Carol Minogue, of Melbourne, Australia." The advertisement was placed under the names Mr. JS von Sasse and Miss KA Minogue.
The couple took to their Instagram account to thank their followers with their congratulatory remarks. The two shared a typewritten message which read: "A huge thanks for all of your kind wishes today. Love & Love, J & K."
But before the announcement on the publication was posted, the couple had already been overheard talking about the engagement. At the recently concluded 2016 NME Awards held in Austin, Texas on Wednesday, Minogue showed off her vintage-inspired diamond ring to friends and to the press. The Australian native wasn't shy to flaunt her mega-carat ring as she posed for photographers on the red carpet. According to IBTimes, however, Minogue has been photographed wearing the ring since January. According to IOL, Sasse proposed to the singer while they were on a two-week skiing holiday during the Christmas period.
Apart from being an actor, Sasse's great-grandfather, William Berry, was the 1st Viscount Camrose. Berry purchased The Telegraph in 1927 while also owning The Sunday Times and several other publications. Minogue and Sasse first met when the singer made a guest appearance on the set of his show entitled "Galavant." In September, the two started dating.
Prior to dating Sasse, Minogue has been linked with Andres Velencoso, Olivier Martinez, Jason Donovan, and Michael Hutchence.
