The lawsuit file by one of the four women against Los Angeles officers over sexual assault will be settled by the city. The said lawsuit has been filed in 2014 by four women, charging the two officers from the city of sexual abuse.
Los Angeles City Officers, Luis Valenzuela and James Nichols were charged of sexual abuse to the said woman, whom the two forced into oral sex in the back of the "unmarked car". According the Guardian, the officers were also charged with multiple assaults by four female victims. The crime dated back around 2010 while the police are on duty.
Her lawyer, Dan Miller said, "We're glad they've finally been brought to justice. It took way too long, but better late than never." The agreed settlement from the city will be finalized until the council of the city approved it.
The CNN News reported, aside from multiple counts of sexual, Nichols, 44, Valenzuela 43, are also charge with rape under color of authority, the criminal complaint stated in Los Angeles Superior Court. One of the victims accused Valenzuela of pointing a gun.
The woman represented by Miller stated in her suit that the LAPD's internal affairs department took no meaningful action for three years. She added, that the investigators told her that her case will be brought to justice, and told her repeatedly not to talk to lawyers.The two police officers were among at least 1,000 officers across the country had lost their badge over the previous six years following allegations of rape, sodomy and other sexual crimes, Big Story reported.
On a new s conference, Los Angeles Police Department Chief Charlie Beck said, "These two officers have disgraced themselves. They've disgraced this badge. They've disgraced this office."Authorities also reported that each of the victims was arrested by the two officers on a narcotics related investigation. Victims were ages 19, 24, 25 and 34 at the time.
