Oklahoma Man Formally Indicted to Murder Charges Over Shooting and Decapitating Grandparents

Man who was arrested for shooting and decapitating his grandparents in Oklahoma City has been formally charged to the said crime on Tuesday. Prosecutors indicted the grandson of the elderly couple who were murdered on their home where the three of them lived in.

The ABC News reported, Quinton Deshawn Laster, 20 years old has been indicted with first-degree murder on Tuesday, 9th of February over the deaths of his grandparents, James Earl Reed, 78 years old and his wife, Sharon Reed, 59 years old.

Laster pleaded not guilty over the crime on his first court appearance on the 11th February. Court document does not list him a defense lawyer and is being detained without a bond, Fox news reported. Police discovered the elderly couple's body inside of their home where the three of them lived together, after Laster told the neighbor about the crime he committed and he asked them to call police.

Police arrived on the scene Tuesday afternoon after they received a call from a neighbor to check on the welfare of the couple.They found the elderly couple dead and rescued three children huddled inside a garage.

According to CNN News, the said children were safe over the incident and were returned to their families. On Laster's first appearance Thursday, he remains silent throughout his court appearance. Investigators also have not yet provided details on Laster's motive on the murder.

Relatives told the source that they were devastated and they don't have any idea of what push Laster to kill his grandparents. Brenda Jackson, Sharon Reed's sister said she was shocked. "He didn't deserve it, and she didn't deserve it," she said.

Jackson also added, Laster has been sharing home with his grandparents for two years since his mother kicked him out of her house. The elderly couple own and operate a day care out of their home. Reed had been running the daycare for 20 years.
