Loyal fans of Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom can look forward to a better and more fun gaming experience as Konami is set to launch a soon-to-be released new patch for Metal Gear Online and the highly anticipated Cloaked in Silence expansion coming next month.
As reported by Design N Trend, a brand new patch for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain's online mode, Metal Gear Online (MGO), is expectedly a massive update which includes changes to Respawning mechanics.
Prior to the new update, when gamers are killed due to being "fultoned", they can opt respawn point. However, in the latest patch, players will only be permitted to spawn back at the HQ.
Via the game's website, Konami stated, "Bounty Hunter is a mission that is heavily dependent on fulton gameplay, but making this change will add new fulton tactics to multiple mission types by forcing enemy players to the HQ point upon respawn,"
In addition, the upcoming update will also offer changes to respawn locations in the Comm Control game mode where players can respawn in any Comm Link station captured by their team despite that an opposite player is within the station.
"This felt a bit frantic, and forced players into a stressful situation when claiming a Comm Link, even if they managed to overtake the enemy upon entering it," explains Konami in their blog post. "After the update, if an enemy player is in the middle of recapturing your team's Comm Link, you can no longer choose that location as a respawn point, but now must make your way to reclaim your threatened Comm Link."
Another change that will soon be seen in MGO is the introduction of sniper character Quiet in Cloaked in Silence expansion this coming March. The game publisher described the character on its post stating, "More specifically, she will have an aim that's almost perfectly accurate in both third-person and first-person with minimum to no camera sway, This means she has superior skill handling her Sniper Rifle even in close/mid range proximity."
The Cloaked in Silence expansion for Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain is slated to arrive in March. This DLC will require players to shell out an extra $4 out of their pocket to get three new maps including character Quiet. Also included in the expansion is a free MGO update adding a new mission type called Sabotage.
Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain is the fifth instalment in the Metal Gear Solid Series developed by Kojima Productions and published by Konami. It was launched September 1st last year on Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
