Queen Elsa and Princess Anna are bound to return to the big screen for Frozen 2. Although official details regarding the sequel are currently scarce, speculations suggest that it will feature a powerful duet between the sisters and a new villain to take down.
As reported by Vine Report, recent rumors on the sequel suggest that a new female villain might be introduced in the upcoming sequel, and might attempt to get the throne from Queen Elsa. It is also speculated that the sequel will give more focus on Queen Elsa as the first film was focused more on Anna.
Anna and Elsa are expected to return while their little snowman friend, Olaf, is also highly likely to return. It is also rumored that Prince Hans who was more on the anti-hero side in the first film might return in the sequel as well.
Moreover, a duet between the sisters is also possible just like the huge hit, "Let it go" of the first movie. Director Chris Buck also previously hinted about such song saying that he intends on making it a relatable and timely with the issues in our society.
"We will tackle other issues that, I think, are out there today that boys and girls, men and women, are dealing with. I think we're very aware of what is happening in society", Buck stated.
The mouse also has a lot in store for the franchise. According to JoBlo, Disney has confirmed that Frozen Broadway has been confirmed to be out in Spring of 2018, although, a Pre-Broadway engagement is expected to take place in 2017.
The Broadway show will be directed by Alex Timbers with choreography by Peter Darling. Per IDigital Times, the show is also expected to feature more songs and could also provide some plot points for the sequel to keep from getting outdated by the sequel which could be released in the same year.
Aside from the Broadway, Disney also has a lot of plans for the franchise which could extend beyond the big screen. Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee are back to co-direct Frozen 2. More details will be reported about the sequel as more details become available.
