'Captain America: Civil War' Spoiler: Shocking major death pivotal to the Marvel Cinematic Universe

By

"Captain America: Civil War" could be more emotional than the fans think. The Super Bowl 50 TV spot for "Civil War" gave a sufficient presentation of the heavy conflict between Captain America and Iron Man, and how it has divided The Avengers into two warring sides. But with the release of the trailers comes a somewhat unwanted spoiler that will shatter everyone's hearts.

It was recently revealed that the death of a major character in "Captain America: Civil War" will mark a very poignant turn for the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Ever since the announcement, fans and experts have wrapped their head around the possibility of watching a favorite character getting killed off in the movie.

According to YouTube channel "Hashtag Show" Scarlet Witch, The Falcon and War Machine reportedly shot a death scene from "Captain America: Civil War." A telling scene consistent with this hint was included in the latest "Civil War" trailer. War Machine (Don Cheadle) can be seen lying down with his eyes closed and Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) appearing worried about his best friend's condition.

But putting a major, pivotal plot twist in a trailer just doesn't make sense. Many are of the belief that the War Machine scene and Falcon's and Scarlet Witch's reported deaths are just decoys concocted to throw everyone off the track.

Geek suggests that the Russo brothers may be sticking to the comic books this time, particularly the "Fallen Son" storyline which was supposedly the initial title for the third "Captain America" movie. If viewers were to follow the "Fallen Son" events, Captain America was killed by Crossbones, or at least he was the presumed culprit. Apparently it was a brainwashed Sharon Carter who committed the deed. Bucky, angered by the murder of best friend, nearly beats Crossbones to death. Crossbones is eventually imprisoned, but later interrogated by Bucky, Wolverine and Doctor Strange, with the help of Professor X, to determine who made the kill order on Cap. Following Rodgers' death, Bucky will take over the Captain America identity.

This exact setup would seem very unlikely, considering there's still no plan to do a crossover between Marvel and Fox's "X-Men" for the big screen. But there's a huge chance Bucky would assume the Captain America title in the coming movies.

It was also reported that Sebastian Stan, who plays Bucky, has been fitted for a Captain America costume.

With respect to the comic books, Steve Rogers' death is inevitable. For the MCU, it's an event that will change the narrative as we currently know it.

On the bright side, no one really ever stays dead in the comics and the MCU.

The "Doctor Strange" movie comes out a few months after "Captain America: Civil War." Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige hinted that the Time Stone, one of the Infinity Stones, will be introduced in the movie under the guise of the "Eye of Agamotto." The Eye supposedly gives Doctor Strange the power to manipulate possibilities and "screw around with time."

A lot of possibilities can take place once the Time Stone is out. Marvel could easily use this later to go back in time and save Steve Rogers from his ultimate demise. Perhaps they could work out a way to open up alternate realities.

Although it would be very sad to see Captain America die in his own film, it is a necessary sacrifice.

"Captain America: Civil War" will be out in theatres on April 27.
