Boxer Billy Dib formerly signed to a promoting company run by Floyd Mayweather, Jr and his former best friend 50 Cent. However, since finishing his contract, Billy Dib revealed to the Australian media that signing to 50 Cent's company was one of the biggest mistakes in his career. 50 Cent also fired back against the boxer.
The Australian boxer expressed relief to have ended his contract with 50 Cent's promotion company. As reported by Design N Trend, the boxer added that he was never paid back of the full amount that he was supposed to get, and such payment may never happen anymore.
"A lot of people would say 'Why do you want to get away from 50 Cent, that would be amazing'", Dib stated. "But it's not amazing. It was very disheartening, sleepless nights. You wake up for phone calls, and the guy would never answer his phone. It was possibly the worst career move that I've made in my life."
According to The Daily Telegraph, Dib signed on a three-year multi-fight contract and left the company with at least $1 million yet to be given to him. Dib detailed that he only received only a fraction of his purse for the six fights he had.
Dib also stated that signing to the company made him lose his love for boxing and his enthusiasm to train. However, as reported by Boxing Scene, rapper 50 Cent also expressed his point on the matter calling Dib an "ungrateful fighter" and saying that he was the reason for his falling out with best friend Floyd Mayweather, Jr.
"The truth is Bill Dib is an ungrateful fighter who was deemed unwatchable by premium networks like Showtime and HBO when I met him. Floyd was mad at me for signing him in the first place. With a record of 35-1, with 21 KOs, Dib must have fought 21 cab drivers.", 50 Cent fired back against Dib through social media.
50 Cent started the SMS Promotions in partnership with Mayweather, Jr. but soon ended after the two had a fight that lasted for years. The rapper declared bankruptcy in 2015 and has faced lawsuits against the fighters. He also owed $45 million to his creditors.
