Bill Cosby Lawyer Defamation Lawsuit Discharged in Court

Attorney Martin Singer, Bill Cosby's lawyer, will not be charged on the defamation lawsuit filed by model Janice Dickinson against him after it was dismissed in court. The model is alleging the lawyer of denying her accusations that the comedian drugged and raped her.

Despite the dismissal of the suit against Cosby's lawyer, the defamation charges against the actor/ comedian are still ongoing. According to Yahoo, Judge Debre Katz Weintraub ruled out that Singer couldn't be sued because she was aware of his denial of the allegations when she filed the case in May. The same day, the 78-year-old "Ghost Dad" star's attorneys requested to postpone the defamation lawsuit in Massachusetts to attend to another criminal case filed against the actor in Pennsylvania. Cosby is being sued for drugging and sexually attacking a woman in his Philadelphia home way back in 2004.

"We are very pleased with the ruling," Singer's attorney, Andrew Brettler said. "We believe the court got it right."

Seven women filed a defamation suit against Cosby in Massachusetts, WRAL reports. They alleged that Cosby's reps called them "liars" after they came out in public that he sexually assaulted them. The disgraced comedian later filed a counter lawsuit against the women. Meanwhile, it is said that the supermodel and her lawyer, Lisa Bloom, will be carrying out with the defamation lawsuit against Cosby.

"I know that justice will prevail," Dickinson told Entertainment Online. "I know the truth will come out." Bloom claimed that her client is strong. "She is resolute. She's not giving up, and we are side by side in this fight."

Despite the dismissal of lawsuit against Cosby's lawyer, Dickinson will be back again in court to face the comedian on Feb. 29. Dickinson claimed that Camille Cosby's husband drugged and raped her in Lake Tahoe in California. She added she didn't tell what happened to her in 1982 because she's terrified of what could happen on her blossoming career and that Cosby would get his revenge on her.
