'Kingsman 2' Update: Did Taron Egerton just drop the bomb on the new villain? Star hints sequel will be bigger, more 'international'

By

"Kingsman: The Secret Service" was an adrenaline rush chockfull of fight scenes, witty dialogue, posh spy gear plus a band of handsomely suave spies. Add that formula to stars Taron Egerton and Colin Firth's intriguing chemistry, and we've got ourselves one of the biggest surprise hits of 2015.

Did we mention "Kingsman" had a more than sufficient offering of handsome spies?

With the movie booted up "Kingsman 2", Taron Egerton revealed that the movie will be bigger, more ambitious than the first "Kingsman" film.

"Obviously there's only so much I can say but what I can say is that we shot [the first] one all in the U.K., that won't be the case with the next one. It's a far more international story, we're going to some incredible places, and we have a villain to rival Samuel L. Jackson-this new one is so brilliantly written I wish I could play it. It's amazing." Egerton told Collider.

According to Egerton, they will begin shooting for "Kingsman 2" in the summer.

For a guy who has "only so much" to say about the movie, he's given fans enough to ponder on.

Perhaps for "Kingsman 2", Egerton's Eggsy Unwin will introduce us to other secret service branches across the globe. As for the villain who's supposedly more badass than Samuel L. Jackson's Valentine, fans will have to wait to know more.

Although for now Taron Egerton is the only one confirmed for "Kingsman 2" cast, there's been strong public support to bring Colin Firth's Harry Hart back in the service. And director Matthew Vaughn is listening.

In a previous interview, Matthew Vaughn had hinted that he may be working on a plot twist to bring back Firth's Harry Hart for "Kingsman 2".

The first "Kingsman" film raked in $140 million international, which was more than what was expected of the movie adaptation of Mark Millar's comic book series. On that score, chances of a Harry Hart comeback seem likely.

He's been mulling over an idea, though, and it goes something like this: "The opening of Kingsman 2 will have a sauna and the sauna door opens and out comes Colin."

Matthew Vaughn will return to direct "Kingsman 2". He has co-written the script with Jane Goldman, as noted by Screen Crush.

In the meantime, Taron Egerton stars in "Eddie the Eagle", a biopic about British skier Eddie Edwards. Egerton co-stars with Hugh Jackman.

The "Kingsman 2" release date is set for Jun. 16, 2017.
