As Cloud Imperium Games' Star Citizen has established itself as one of the most admired games of the generation, there are still some fans who have doubts whether the said title will be worth the time and money. The game is inevitably being compared to others like it, but the people responsible within Cloud Imperium Games have goals of their own.
According to Movie Pilot, there are some factors wherein Star Citizen has become rather admirable to many, even if the game stands alongside others that give a lot of pro-and-con comparisons. After being one of the most massively crowd-funded titles to date, Cloud Imperium Games spoke out their end of the stick as they declared what their goal for Star Citizen is.
Noted by Game Spot, Chris Roberts of Cloud Imperium Games was quoted, "So one of the big goals with Star Citizen was to try, and we're still obviously working pretty hard on this 'cause we're not there yet, but to build a world that's more emergent, more dynamic, and feels like it's got persistent places, locations, characters and you feel like you could be part of the fabric of it. And your actions potentially could have some impact on how the world, or the story universe unfolds during your playtime."
It was further elaborated by Forbes that the recently held Free Fly event may prove to be useful not just for the fans, but also for the developers to see what other fields are to be improved for Star Citizen. The recent event gave access to Arena Commander, Star Citizen's dogfighting module that has doubled to become the developer's way to enhance their flight mechanics and ship balance. Moreover, the Free Fly accounts permitted the trial of three Star Citizen Ships; such being The Hornet F7C Military Fighter, the Aurora LN Starter and the Mustang Delta Interceptor.
Star Citizen gathered approximately $100 million worth in crowd-funding. The title promises a mixed experience of a first person shooter mixed with space vehicle simulation and more for those willing to go on a new sci-fi adventure.
