'Wayward Pines' Confirmed To Return For Season 2; Premiere Date, Plot and Cast Details Revealed

The number one psychological thriller series "Wayward Pines" is officially returning for a second season. FOX Entertainment Head David Madden confirmed a summer 2016 premiere for Season 2.

The popular TV series Wayward Pines is all set to air its second season. According to Madden, they are just waiting for the right time to come, and that is the summer of 2016.

Madden said in a statement via Fox News: "Wayward Pines was a huge hit for us this past summer. We were absolutely blown away by the mysterious and surprising world that Night and his team created, and the twisting-and-turning storytelling that drew viewers in from day one. Season Two is going to take the suspense, the vision of the future and the haunting character drama to whole nefw levels, and we can't wait for our fans to continue that ride next year."

The second season is promised to be more thrilling than the previous run. Season 2 is set to pick up the same set up as the first season. The audiences can expect an action-packed episodes as the residents of Wayward Pines find themselves in the middle of a strong rebellion. They will reportedly figure out how to preserve their edangered race, Christian Post reported.

Moreover, fans of the thriller series could expect some new faces as well on the second season. The additional casts will play major roles on the second season, bringing extra excitement in the series. One of them is "The Lost Boy" alum Jason Patric who is said to play the role of Dr. Theo Yedlin. His character is a surgeon whose great leadership skills appear invaluable to the residents of Wayward Pines.

M. Night Shyamalan said via Variety News, "Jason is an incredibly grounded and believable actor. I am so excited for audiences to see what he brings to the world of 'Wayward Pines,"

The thriller series Wayward Pines can be consider as one of the hottest TV series in the U.S. The season one of the series is very successful, gaining a lot of viewers globally. Its first run got a 7.8 rating from IMDb and 86/100 from Rotten Tomatoes.
