'Into the Badlands' Season 2 Not Yet Confirmed by AMC, Is Cancellation Likely? Digital Graphic Novel Available Now

The American hybrid martial arts television series 'Into the Badlands' concoting its second season. Season 2 will highlight Sunny's new life and Veil will serve as a life changer for Sunny. Meanwhile, digital graphic novel of the same name has been released.

The successful debut of Into the Badlands last 15 November 2015 prompted speculations on its renewal for Second Season. According to TV Series Finale, Season 1 of Into the Badlands premiered with 6.390 million viewers in 18 - 49 demographics. The average viewers for the entire season of the series is 3.86 million, ranking third among AMC's top scripted shows. The Walking Dead and Fear the Walking Dead remain the top shows of the network.

While AMC has not given any confirmation yet on the renewal for Season 2 of Into the Badlands, lead actor Daniel Wu, who plays Sunny, posted on his Facebook account that the show is up for a sequel. However, it was shortly taken down by the actor. The average performance and viewership ratings of the show has the internet speculating on Season 2.

But if Season 2 is plausible, Christian Today has revealed that series creators Alfred Gough and Miles Milar teased that Into the Badlands Season 2 will show more of Sunny's struggle to be on the good side. Veil, character of Madeleine Mantock, will play an important role on Sunny's road to redemption. Veil will be imprisoned in the Badlands, and in order for Sunny to save her, has to hold on to his violent side again.

In other news, AMC announced the release of Into the Badlands digital graphic novel. The novel covers the prequel as well as the Season 1 of the television series. Matt Okumura and Justin Doble, writers for the show, served as writers as well for the comic version. Inverse teases that if AMC will not renew Into the Badlands, the cliffhangers can still continue through the comic book.
