Suburbicon is now on green light after two studio companies confirmed their commitment to the next directorial film of Hollywood actor George Clooney. The actor will be helming this project with Matt Damon and Julianne Moore and have released initial information regarding the film's story.
George Clooney will be handling his next directorial film in his Suburbicon that was due since 2005. According to Variety, Black Bear Pictures have given the director his funding for the comedy drama starring Matt Damon, Julianna Moore and Clooney. Also, Bloom has acquired the sales rights for international markets and will release the film at Berlin Film Festival. Clooney is known for helming projects such as 2014's Monuments Men, Leatherheads, The Ides of March, Confessions of a Dangerous Mind, and the Good Night and Good Luck.
Plot details of the film will focus on the writings of Joel and Ethan brothers who was with Clooney in the film, Hail Caesar. The Wrap reported that the Coen brothers have wrote the script of the film which is centered on the quiet town of Suburbicon. The comedy-drama will meet the best and worst of humanity which is reflected from the deeds of seemingly ordinary people. And when a home invasion turns deadly, the picture goes to blackmail, revenge and betrayal.
More to this, the 54-year old actor also revealed further plot details. The Vine Report wrote that Clooney have been talking about the project since 2005 and now that it's happening he told the media what they should expect.
"It's an interesting story. It takes place in the suburbs in 1947. It's kind of a thriller. It's kind of a comedy. It's a very dark comedy from a young man's point of view about all the things that are going wrong in his house," the actor disclosed. He added that since last year, he's been looking for a story to direct and when he caught interest with Suburbicon, he called the Coen brothers to pen the script.
Suburbicon has finally gotten its funding and script after efforts made by Black Bear Pictures, Bloom, and the Coen brothers. George Clooney is happy with this results and will proceed to the production of the dramedy. The film has casted a stellar couple actors as Matt Damon and Julianne Moore are involved with the upcoming movie. There has been no release dates being confirmed by the director or the studio.
