Dominic Toretto and the gang are headed or three more rides before they finally finish of the Fast and Furious franchise. Although Fast 8 has long been confirmed for a 2017 release, Vin Diesel confirmed on Instagram the official release dates of the ninth and tenth instalments.

Diesel has confirmed through Instagram that the ninth and tenth instalments of the long-running franchise are coming out almost exactly two and four years after the release of the eighth movie. According to E Online, Diesel confirmed that the eighth, ninth, and tenth movie will be released in April 14, 2017, April 19, 2019, and April 2, 2021 respectively.

Plot details are currently under wraps for Fast 8 but Diesel confirmed previously that they will be filming in New York. According to Digital Spy, Universal Studio has also begun the process of seeking approval from the Cuban and US government to film in Cuba.

The US has started it normalising relations with Cuba, and if the Fast 8 gets the approvals it would be the first major Hollywood film to shoot in the country. Vin Diesel is expected to return along with Jason Statham, and Dwayne Johnson. Toretto's team mates are also set to return to be played by Michelle Rodriguez, Ludacris, and Tyrese Gibson.

Statham's return could mean that Deckard Shaw would still be playing a big role as the villain in the franchise. As reported by Enstarz, the previous film ended with Shaw incarcerated in a high-security prison, although it is also possible for a prison-break to occur.

Paul Walker's Brian O'Connor is likely not to appear on the big screen for Fast 8 as his journey in the world of guns and fast cars was made clear to have concluded in the previous film. More details about Fast 8 will be revealed as they are revealed. Fast and Furious 8 will be directed by F Gary Gray.
