F1 superstar Michael Schumacher is still in the process of recuperation after a ski incident in 2013 and the media blackout on his health status still ongoing. Meanwhile, Schumacher's 16 year-old son took second place during the MRF Challenge in Chennai.
As reported by Christian Today, Schumacher's manager Sabine Kehm confirmed that the former F1 racer has made progress in his health, however, she clarified that rumors claiming that he is now able to walk is not true.
"Such speculation is irresponsible, because given the seriousness of his injuries, his privacy is very important for Michael. Unfortunately they also give false hopes to many involved people.", Kehm stated. "We are happy to say still he does improvement and I say this always considering the severeness of the injury he had. But of course it will take a very long time for everybody involved to fight, and we are happy to take this fight," she added.
Well wishes and prayers also flooded in for Schumacher during his birthday last month, especially those coming from former racing champions. Mercedes Team's chief Ross Brawn commended Schumacher for winning numerous races and in helping the team reach its success.
Recently, as reported by Telegraph, Pope Francis also offered his prayers for Schumacher. According to the F1 governing body president Jean Todt, the Pope inquired about Schumacher's condition during his visit in the F1 headquarters for the F1 road safety campaign.
Schumacher is currently being treated in a specialized facility in his home where he is being treated and monitored by experts. Meanwhile, as reported by Sportsrageous, Schumacher's 16 year-old son, Mick Schumacher took home the second place in the season finale race of MRF Challenge event held in Chennai.
Mick Schumacher said that he is happy with his latest achievement and being able to compete against good drivers. "It feels great to drive with the people who have experience, and to see I can compete with them is good", Schumacher, Jr stated.
Mick Schumacher is currently in 10th place in the Drivers' Standings with 51 points. He is also expected to continue driving in German Formula 4 (F4) season for this year.
