In the wake of the IPad Mini 5's release, Apple has announced a US$40 to 50 discount on on its most recent model, the IPad Mini 4.
According to The Apple Insider, the Cupertino-based company has given its authorized retailers the go signal for a price markdown on the IPad Mini 4.
With this discount, the cheapest IPad Mini 4 would be a 16GB Silver WiFi model, which after a US$40 discount, retails for US$359. For those who wish for a bigger storage, the 128GB WiFi only model has a price of US$559, after a discount of US$40.
A report by the Inquistr says that Apple is discounting various IPad Minis and MacBooks due to release of newer models later this year. The IPad Mini 4 was released just in the Fall of last year and the IPad Mini 5 could follow this trend and be released this coming Fall.
Apple did not confirm the exact date of release but insiders think a September release is more likely than an October release.
For those who are still on the fence on taking advantage of this price cut or just wait for the release of the Mini 5, Morning News USA has some details about the IPad Mini 4 that can help users make an informed decision on their purchase.
The IPad Mini 4 is lighter and thinner than previous models and, therefore, looks sleeker. It is powered by an A9 chip with a 64-bit desktop class architecture. This chip guarantees a smooth and seamless performance for various tasks like browsing photos or editing videos. The IPad Mini 4 also has a 8MP rear camera with ISight, video stabilization and a f2.4 aperture. It also comes with a 1.2MP front camera with an aperture of f2.2 and a 720p HD resolution.
Although there is nothing wrong with toughing it out until this coming Fall season and wait for the IPad Mini 5, the more than decent hardware specifications listed above and the US$40 to 50 discount can make a really enticing reason to jump over the fence and get the IPad Mini 4.
