'Bourne 5' is set to debut at the Super Bowl 50 ad break on February 7. The fifth installment in the spy-thriller series is set to feature the return of Matt Damon as the titular Jason Bourne. Alicia Vikander joins him as his newest leading lady.

According to Digital Spy, the first official trailer of the newest untitled fifth installment in the 'Bourne' franchise is set to premiere at the Super Bowl 50 on February 7, 2016 at the Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California. The news was announced by author Eric Van Lustbader on Facebook. Lustbader took over the spy book series following original author Robert Ludlum's death in March 2001.

Lustbader's post read, "BREAKING NEWS! The first trailer for the new Bourne film will be shown during this year's Superbowl telecast. At that time I believe you'll find out the title of the film. (I know it, but I'm sworn to secrecy). So tune in on February 7th to check out all the excitement. I, for one, can't wait!!!"

The fifth film is set to feature the return of Matt Damon as the titular Jason Bourne, an amnesiac CIA assassin turned fugitive. Damon appeared in the first three films in the franchise, namely 2002's 'The Bourne Identity', 2004's 'The Bourne Supremacy' and 2007's 'The Bourne Ultimatum'. Jeremy Renner's Aaron Cross was introduced in 2012's 'The Bourne Legacy' after Damon failed to return for the project.

According to /Film, Damon's reprisal as Jason Bourne follows the return of director Paul Greengrass to the cinematic franchise. Although plot details for 'Bourne 5' have been kept tightly under wraps, the new film will find Jason in a "dark and tortured" place and continuing to find answers about his identity.

The 45-year old actor and filmmaker previously teased, "There's been the financial collapse, the great recession, all these issues of cyberwarfare and civil liberties." Filming will bring cast and crew to several locales around the world including Athens, Berlin, London, Las Vegas and Washington DC.

Another article by Cinema Blend reported that Alicia Vikander has been brought in as Damon's newest leading lady. She joins Tommy Lee Jones, Julia Stiles, Vincent Cassel and Riz Ahmed in the new film.

The Oscar-nominated actress expressed her enthusiasm over the project saying that she was overwhelmed by the scale and size of the production and of how far she'd come in her career in the movie industry. She teased, "I'm not doing the conventional action but I'm very action-driven in this film".

'Bourne 5' is an upcoming addition to the spy-thriller series starring Matt Damon in the lead role. It is scheduled to be released on July 29, 2016. It is co-written and directed by Paul Greengrass and is based on one of Robert Ludlum's popular novels of the same name.
