It has been years since the last Princess Diaries film hit the theaters but Chris Pine proved that it's not only the MiaThermopolis fans who are hoping for a Princess Diaries 3 during an online Q and A event.
As reported by Buzzfeed, Pine who played the role of Princess Mia's love interest, Nicholas Devereaux, had a Question and Answer event with Entertainment Weekly where a fan asked, "Don't you pray every night for a Princess Diaries 3??? BECAUSE I DO", to which Pine answered saying, "Have you been reading my diary???".
The Q&A event was done through Tumblr, a few days ahead of the release of his movie The Finest Hours. According to Entertainment Weekly, Pine answered a vast array of questions about him ranging from his experiences in filming the upcoming flick to his favorite tv shows, some of which he revealed to be The Americans, Homeland, and Game of Thrones.
Rumors surfaced middle of last year about a possible Princess Diaries 3 being in the development stage. However, as reported by Mail Online, the rumors were quickly denied by the studio. Julie Andrews also previously stated in an interview that a third film is unlikely to happen.
'I would never say no because Disney's so wonderfully clever and inventive but I would think they'll stay with just the two because of Annie" , Andrews stated. The franchise's star, Anne Hathaway, said that starring in the films helped her springboard her career to success, however, it also caused her to be typecast as a good girl.
"After Princess Diaries, I was labelled a good girl", Hathaway stated in a previous interview. "For the first eight years of my career I had to fight to get any other kind of job", she added. The Princess Diaries, and The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement earned box office success earning $165 million and $134 million respectively according to Box Office Mojo.
