One of LG's executive has reportedly confirmed that the LG G5 will be coming to the MWC 2016 to take on the Samsung S7. The Korean company has already scheduled a press conference this February 21, a day before the MWC in Barcelona kicks in.
According to Tech Radar, LG will introduce a new design language for the G5 which is said to have a removable section on the device bodyworks which allows it battery to just slide out and be replaced, this means that the volume and power button will be moved to the sides contrary to the G4's back panel controls. The body of the G5 will be made of metal and its dimensions are 149.4 x 73.9 x 8.2mm.
The G5 is going to sport a 5.6- inch true HD with flexible touchscreen. The resolution is said to be 3840 x 2160 which simply translates that it is a 4K display. What keeps this device running is the octa-core Snapdragon 820 chipset clocking at 2.2-3 GHz of speed with a 4GB of RAM too keep in on top. The rumored internal memory of the phone will be 32, 64 and 128GB respectively.
To keep up with your day, it is rumored to have a 4000mAH battery which is understandable since it will use a 4K screen display. LG was also rumored to have integrated QUALCOMM's Quick Charge 3.0 Technology which allows the battery to be charge up 85% in just under 35 minutes.
LG is known to have killer cameras, as for the G5 it is rumored to use a Sony lens with a 20MP sensor. It will be accompanied by a double LED bulb for flash with an 8MP front snapper. It also features a smile, gesture, and face detection. But what's new is that it will have an iris scanning feature on the front camera making it a biometric scanner, increasing the phones security capability.
Experts say that the G5 will be available anywhere from February to April this year and will cost at around $900. Speculations and rumors of who is the best Korean smartphone will be circling around and consumers will be the one to decide if the G5 can really come up with Samsung's challenge this time around.
