Michael Schumacher Recovery Update: Manager reveals F1 champ's condition continues to improve; Pope Francis offers prayer

By

Pope Francis recently offered a prayer for Formula One superstar Michael Schumacher. While the media blackout on Schumacher's health condition is still ongoing, the retired F1 driver's manager recently said that his health continues to improve.

As reported by Latin Post, Pope Francis visited Formula One's governing body FIA President Jean Todt who showed the Pope a video for the F1 road safety campaign. It is called #SaveKidsLives.

"We informed him that 500 children die on roads every day and that another 20,000 are injured every day.", Todt said.

Todt added that he later told the Pope about Schumacher's condition and asked if he could pray for the retired racer which the Pope accepted. Schumacher is currently in a rehabilitation program after suffering from severe brain injuries which he obtained after a skiing accident at the French Alpine Resort of Meribel in 2013.

Schumacher's family requested to keep his health progress private and was supported by their lawyer, Felix Damm. According to Gospel Herald, Schumacher is being monitored by 15 medical specialists. His rehabilitation also reportedly costs £115k a week.

Very little is known about Schumacher's condition but according to Cross Map, Schumacher's manager, Sabine Kehm recently revealed that his health state is improving.

"We are happy to say still he does improvement and I say this always considering the severeness of the injury he had. But of course it will take a very long time for everybody involved to fight, and we are happy to take this fight", Kehm said.

Moreover, Schumacher's family thanked the racer's fans for their support in his recovery through his Facebook page. It is also reported that Schumacher's wealth is what the family is using for his medical expenditures.

However, he is still believed to be one of the richest personalities in England aside from F1 boss Bernie Ecclestone, and billionaire Mansour Ojjeh. He reportedly owned $700 to $800 million worth of property throughout his career. Schumacher retired in 2012.
