Samsung tops the list in terms of the number of smartphones and tablets confirmed for the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update. As of the latest, Samsung is likely releasing the beta versions of Marshmallow to three more phones of the company, following roll out to two flagship phones.
Samsung Galaxy A8, Galaxy A7 and Galaxy Alpha are reportedly up next for the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update in the coming weeks, as the company already released it to Galaxy S6 Edge and Galaxy S6 phones. There has been no confirmation yet straight from the giant as to the exact date but it would most likely come in February to March. Partner carriers meanwhile have not spoken anything yet as of now.
Galaxy Alpha is exclusively available on AT&T, Bell and T-Mobile aside from the retail versions. The retail and international units are running on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop, while units in the US still run on Android 5.0.2 Lollipop. A total of eight models are eligible for Marshmallow and they have model numbers SM - G850F, SM - G850W, SM - G850Y, SM - G850FQ, SM - G850S, SM - G850A, SM - G850T, and SM - G850M.
Galaxy A8 has begun receiving the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop in Nepal. Two models are eligible for Marshmallow, having model numbers SM - A8000 and SM - A800F.
Galaxy A7 units are still running on Android 5.0.2 Lollipop across the board. Meanwhile, a total of 12 models are confirmed for the Marshmallow update. Model numbers are as follows: SM - A7100, SM - A700F, SM - A700FD, SM - A700H, SM - A700L, SM - A700S, SM - A700K, SM - A710F, SM - A710M, SM - A7000, SM - A710K and SM - A710S.
These models will receive Marshmallow's new features and enhancements, which includes Doze Mode, app standby, app permissions, new app drawer, Now on Tap and a lot more.
