Minecraft developer Mojang has launched an all new free update for Xbox One Edition offering tons of new cool items, blocks, mobs and more. Meanwhile, Telltale Games' spinoff title, Minecraft Story Mode, will arrive on Wii U tomorrow, January 21.
Mojang has recently rolled out 18.8 Update on Minecraft Xbox One Edition and what's delightful about it for sandbox game fans is that it all comes for free. A plethora of these free goodies are detailed below via NeuroGadget:
New Items
Lots of these fresh new items include the Cooked Rabbit, Raw Rabbit, Rabbit's Food, Rabbit Hide, and Rabbit Stew. There is also Raw Mutton and Cooked Mutton, Salmon, Cooked Salmon, Clownfish, and Pufferfish.
In addition are Armour Stand, Potion of Leaping, Potion of Water, various items designed after plants. Flowers such as Blue Orchid, Double Tall Grass, Large Ferns, Lilac, Oxeye Daisy, Poppy, Rose Bush, Peony, Sunflower, Tulips, Prismarine and Prismarine Crystals are also featured.
New Blocks
The new blocks that are now available include Acacia Saplings, Andesite, Chiseled Red Sandstone, Coarse Dirt, Dark Oak Saplings, Diorite, Granite, Red Sand, Red Sandstone, Sea Lanterns, Slime Blocks, Wet Sponge, and the like.
New Mobs
More new mobs are coming to the game with the new update and these include Chicken Jockey, Elder Guardian, Endermite, Guardian, and Rabbit. New biomes like Birch Forest, Deep Ocean, Extreme Hills+, Mega Taiga, Mesa, Roofed Forest, Savanna, and Snowless Taiga and others are all part of the changes in the latest Xbox One Edition 18.8 Update.
Meanwhile, Wii U gamers can now mark their calendar as Minecraft: Story Mode First Episode for Wii U version developed by Telltale Games is set to launch on tomorrow, Jan. 21.
EuroGamer reports that Minecraft: Story Mode Episode 1 costs US$4.99 when bought separately while a Season Pass is also offered for gamers who want to make a one time purchase of all the subsequent episodes.
Minecraft Story Mode is a first for Telltale Games on the Wii U that has a unique feature of off-TV play with the use of GamePad. The Wii U Version will also get to utilize the touchscreen controls which are suitable for the upcoming Minecraft: Wii U Edition Update that was first released on PS4, PS3, Xbox One and Xbox 360 versions.
