The previous installment of LG's premium phone G4 got things going for them last year. It is yet to be seen if the upcoming G5 can top its predecessor. LG G5 is now packed with the latest OS in the market, the Android Marshmallow.
To some gizmo fanatics, the premium phones from LG doesn't quite offer excitement for its consumers, but rumors from the Korean company says that the G5 has something different to offer. Though no definite dimensions revealed yet, one thing that is sure is that it will shy away from the usual glass and metal body. Instead, it will opt to go with plastics and leather. According to Digitaltrend, the new flagship phone will have an IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with vibrant 16M color display and a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels (~525 ppi pixel density). It will still have a Corning Gorilla Glass 4 for scratch protection.
The powerhouse beneath the G5 will be the Qualcomm MSM8996 Snapdragon 820 with Adreno 530 for graphics. It will be using Android OS, v6.0 (Marshmallow) the latest platform in android technology. Internal memory will be 64GB with up to 200GB of micro USB storage as reported by BGR.
Batteries on the new LG phone will shrink from 3,000 mah to 2,800 mah and the performance of the processor to battery power ratio are yet to be tested. Sources say that it will adopt a removable battery design.
Sources from Techradar say that taking photos from the G5 will be no slouch, with a 20 megapixels primary and an 8-megapixel front-camera. Equipped with laser- assisted focus and led flash, one will be able to capture every single detail possible. Other features are smile and face shutter and can take panorama and HDR photos. Moreover, a notable addition to the G5 is the new retina scanner, sources say that the company was working with Irience to develop this top of the line security feature.
LG has announced that it will release the G5 this coming February. Till then, it will all be up to the consumers if the additional goodies they put in will live up to the hype and replace the hitch and glitch that came with its predecessor .
