"Prison Break" has been renewed for a fifth season years after Season 4 ended but reports have surfaced saying that the release of the show could be delayed. This is because the main actors for the show, Dominic Purcell and Wentworth Miller, have signed up for the new 16-episode show "Legends of Tomorrow."
In a report by International Business Times, the shoot for "Prison Break" Season 5 could be delayed because of the premiere of "Legends of Tomorrow." Purcell said in a recent statement that Warner Bros. and 20th Century Fox are negotiating regarding the conflicting schedules.
"There are a lot of moving parts to that conversation, but we are hopeful that we'll be able to shoot something this spring. Prison Break is taking its cue from Legends, which is the priority. So we're aiming for spring," Miller said as per Vine Report.
Inquisitr also reported that "Prison Break" Season 5 was rumored to be released by March 2016 but due to the schedule conflict, it is now speculated to be out by June or July this year.
FOX CEO Dana Walden also said in a statement that the upcoming episode picks up several years after from where the characters were last seen. Basically, the brothers, Michael Scofield and Lincoln Burrows will be coming back as the former character faked his own death.
Walden added that "some of the iconic characters" will be back and the fifth season will be a 10-episode arc. However, details about who exactly will be coming back aside from Purcell and Miller have not been revealed yet.
It could be remembered that in the finale of "Prison Break" Season 4, Scofield's character died and he wrote a letter to his wife and son explaining why he did such. Burrows even accompanied his sister-in-law and nephew in visiting the grave of Scofield.
"Prison Break" Season 5's delay might disappoint the fans but at least they will still see Dominic Purcell and Wentworth Miller 's return despite their conflicting schedule with "Legends of Tomorrow."
