‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’ new tv spots released; Run time longer than ‘Man of Steel’

'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' is an upcoming superhero film based on the DC comics characters of the same name. Warner Bros. recently released two new television spots featuring tensions between Batman and Superman. The new film, rated PG-13, is said to run longer than its predecessor 'Man of Steel'.

According to The Mirror, two new television spots have been released just recently in time for the scheduled premiere on March 25, 2016. The first teaser showed Henry Cavill's Clark Kent a.k.a. Superman and Ben Affleck's Bruce Wayne a.k.a. Batman meeting for the first time at a shindig hosted by the villainous Lex Luthor played by Jesse Eisenberg. Gal Gadot's Diana Prince a.k.a. Wonder Woman then makes one of her widely anticipated appearances as the iconic female superhero towards the end of the teaser.

The second television spot featured Superman and Batman crossing paths at a dark alleyway with the latter lashing out with threatening words. Batman asks his adversary quite candidly, "Tell me - do you bleed? You will." The upcoming film's plot will focus on the two popular superheroes butting heads with a new threat in the form of Doomsday lurking in the distance.

Another article by Den of Geek reported that 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' will have a run time of 151 minutes - longer than its predecessor 'Man of Steel'. It has also been rated PG-13 by the Motion Picture Association of America. It is said to contain "intense sequences of violence and action throughout and some sensuality."

Although the PG-13 rating is not unexpected for violence and its action sequences, Cinema Blend raised some questions towards the "sensuality" call. It was rumored that Batman and Wonder Woman brief romance in the original series may be featured somewhere in the film at some point. In the Justice League animated series, the two were romantically linked - albeit briefly.

'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' is an upcoming sequel to 2013's 'Man of Steel'. It is intended as the second installment in the DC shared universe. It is directed by Zack Snyder based on a screenplay by Chris Terrio and David Goyer and is scheduled to be released on March 25, 2016.
