Samsung has unveiled its newest Gear S2 with its sophisticated design. The new smartwatch leans on a more feminine design and features. It also works on Apple's iOS hoping to attract more people and wider market.

Samsung is releasing a new addition to their wearables with the upcoming smartwatch. As reported by Android Central, the new gadgets will be an extension of the Gear S2 Classic and will be available in the colors of rose gold and platinum.

Its 18K rosegold variant has white genuine leather strap while the platinum version has black genuine leather. Its modern look leans on a more feminine design which differentiates it from smartwatches available in the market today.

The Samsung Gear S2 also increased its partnership with its watch faces designed by Keith Haring, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Jeremyville and Burton Morris. It retains the function of Gear S2 with its circular UI as well as its battery life of two to three days depending on use.

"In 2015, we set a new standard with the Gear S2 in smart wearable category. We broke barriers to introduce one of Samsung's most progressive wearable devices to date" Executive Vice President of Global Marketing, Mobile Communications Business Younghee Lee said as indicated by Samsung News Room.

"In 2016, we will continue to raise the bar, so that we can deliver products that our customers want most." Lee further stated. As reported by CNBC, the new smartwatch now works on Apple iOS as well, expanding the market for the product.

The new development in the Gear S2 is also in order to encourage developers to come up with apps for the product, specially that Apple users are also part of the target market. Moreover, the new Samsung Gear S2 will incorporate NFC technology for Samsung Pay.

The price for the new Samsung Gear S2 smartwatch is currently under wraps but more details are expected to be unveiled during its expected release in February.
