‘Machinarium' and 'Botanicula’ on Sale for iOS Devices; Dev Shares Game Settings

Both Machinarium and Botanicula are on sale in the iTunes App Store. Game developer shares their insights on the games excellent qualities and continued success.

Pocket Gamer informed that fans can avail the two award-winning iOS games Machinarium and Botanicula on cheaper price for one week. Machinarium costs £1.49 / $1.99 on the App Store and is available for iPhone and iPad. Fans can avail Botanicula for £1.49 / $1.99 but it is for iPad only.

The games are point and click adventures jam-packed with riddles about voiceless little people delving into bizarre realms, the site describes. Josef is the main hero in Machinarium set in a rusty tin-can world of automatons. Josef is a miniature bot who tries to save his metal-coated girlfriend through solving puzzles and mini games. While Botanicula is set on a world that is organic and green. The game takes place on the twisting branches of a giant tree. Fans can play five different creatures.

Machinarium and Botanicula are being admired for excellent qualities because of striking graphics and attention-grabbing stories, International Business Times wrote in their site.

The source also confirmed that although both click-and-point adventure games are accessible in iOS and Android, the iOS versions are only on sale. Machinarium is only on sale for iOS but still in full price on Android.

Meanwhile, Machinarium and Botanicula's game developer Amanita Design, an independent Czech game design studio shares their insights on the accomplishment of the point-and-click adventure games Machinarium and Botanicula.

Radio Praha did an interview with Amanita Design founder Jakub Dvorský detailing fine points of the games' settings.

Dvorský stated in the interview that the settings of both games are very detailed and seemed to have historic influences. The sound and musical effects also complete the impression.

"We not only draw the games in great detail but we also take photos of a lot of textures in the real world and put them into the illustrations," he added as quoted by the site.

Machinarium and Botanicula are developed by Amanita Design for iOS and Android.
