After more than a week of intense searching, country music singer Craig Strickland has been found dead. The young singer who went out hunting on a cold wintery day failed to return home the same evening sparking alarms. Craig was said to have known that a severe storm was heading his way, however, that didn't stop him continuing with his hunting trip, leading to his death due to hypothermia.

According to CNN, Craig Strickland, a 29-year-old vocalist of the country rock band, 'Backroad Anthem' went duck hunting on December 26th with his friend Chase Morland. The two friends headed to Oklahoma's Kaw Lake for the day despite knowing that a fierce winter storm was heading their way and had already hit central portions of the country.

The young singer even jokingly tweeted about the storm just before he and Chase left, saying, "In case we don't come back, @BackroadCRAIG and I are going right through Winter Storm Goliath to kill ducks in Oklahoma. #IntoTheStorm."

In another report from the International Business Times, it was the Kay County Sheriff's Department in Oklahoma that confirmed they had found Strickland's body after more than a week of searching. Both male's had been missing since December 27th and it wasn't until January 5th that Strickland's wife, Helen Strickland took to twitter to confirm that her husband had been found, however he hadn't survived after the boat he was hunting in capsized.

Inside Edition added that the Oklahoma Highway Patrol confirmed on Monday in a press "Strickland's body was located within the original search area known as Bear Creek Cove." The 29-year-olds dog who had accompanied the two men on the hunt was found well and alive guarding his owner's body until the police arrived.

There has yet been any updates on burial information, however, Craig Strickland's family continue to thank the public for their love, support, and prayers. Craig's band members have also paid respect to their fellow band mate by posting pictures and heart warming words on their facebook page.
