Sony Xperia Z5 Premium To Receive Android 6.0 Marshmallow Update

Sony Xperia Z5 Premium has been revealed to receive first the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update through official over-the-air (OTA). Sony Mobile released a list charting the tech company's plans for the biggest update in Android history.

Android 6.0 Marshmallow is slated to bring in new features and improvements to Sony Xperia Z5 Premium smartphones in January via official OTA update. The flagship device will experience the software full swing according to the list of Sony on its support page.

However, the news ends here as of now, as the Japanese giant has no official word yet as to the exact release date of the Marshmallow update. Previously, it was reported that the new build will fall in December 2015 but it did not come.

Sony Xperia Z5 Premium, meanwhile, has officially received the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop in Taiwan through firmware update 32.0.A.6.170. In the United States, only a part of the Xperia population has been updated. The Xperia Z5 Premium variant qualified has model number E6853.

As often headlined, the cream of the crop among Google's software, the Android 6.0 Marshmallow build, promises to put into the finest zone, the Xperia Z5 Premium, by way of new features and functionalities.

Android 6.0 Marshmallow update will offer new features and improvements to the 4K device, as well as supports to mobile payments, fingerprint and the USB Type-C.

The USB Type-C support is a notable and impressive import from Apple. This new cable supports almost all types of ports for charging tablets, phones and PCs. It can also be used on transference of data between devices.
