Kendrick Lamar Features Short Film “God is Gangsta”

By

Hip-hop artist Kendrick Lamar has a gift for his fans and all people who loves his music. Just recently, Lamar shared a short film titled "God is Gangsta" incorporating clips from his latest singles "u" and "For Sale?" from his Grammy-nominated album, "To Pimp a Butterfly."

The seven-minute short film begins with K-Dot sitting alone in a room as he drinks a huge bottle of liquor while he raps his tracks. Later, he cleanses his sins in a pool with half-naked women surrounding him. Just as his songs, the rapper does not fail to send poetic messages with his visuals and continue to awe his fans.

Just as he ended 2015 gathering massive awards, recognitions and currently holding 11 Grammy nominations, Lamar continues to make his mark in the music industry. The 28-year-old's album "To Pimp A Butterfly" has risen Lamar and has served his aim which is to create powerful and timeless songs.

In a new interview with The New York Times, K-Dot did not hesitate in revealing he wants to bag all 11 nominations in the Grammys, but not simply for the award itself.

"I want all of them," Lamar said. "Because it's not only a statement for myself, but it's a statement for the culture. They're all important, because of the foundation the forefathers laid before me. Nas didn't get a chance to be in that position. Pac. So to be acknowledged and to actually win, it's for all of them."

K-Dot also went on to explain how his album not only satisfied the audience but the artist himself.

"This album did what I wanted it to do," Lamar shared. "That's not necessarily to sell tons of records - though it didn't do bad at that either - but to actually have an impact on the people and on the culture of music."

Lamar continues to bask in the limelight with his heartfelt raps, and now with his short film "God is Gangsta."

People are now expecting a lot for his next LP which Lamar himself is excited to make.
