New York Nanny, Yoselyn Ortega, Pleads Not Guilty to Stabbing Two Kids, Lucia and Leo Krim

Yoselyn Ortega, the New York nanny, arrested in October for stabbing two children she was baby-sitting pleaded 'Not Guilty' to their murder on Tuesday.

Ortega remains hospitalized from slitting her wrists after killing the two children, Lucia Krim and Leo. Her attorney, Valerie Van Leer-Greenberg, entered the plea on her client's behalf. Judge Lewis Bart Stone set the next court date for January 16 and has ordered the 50-year-old to be held without bail, while she undergoes psychiatric evaluation.

A few months ago Marina Krim came home to find her two children stabbed to death in the bathtub and then witnessed Ortega - the nanny, stab herself and then slit her wrist before she was rushed to the hospital.

According to the New York Police Department Commissioner Ray Kelly, the nanny does not have any known criminal record and that the police have no motive for the killings.

As reported by ABC News, the 50-year-old nanny allegedly stabbed the two children. She currently in the hospital in critical condition and has not been questioned or charged by the police.

Ortega, who recently procured her U.S. passport, came to the country from the Dominican Republic. She has worked as the nanny to the Krim family for over two years at the family's La Rochelle apartment building located on the Upper East side of Manhattan.

Krim returned home after taking her third child to swimming lessons only to discover the bloody bodies of her other two children Lucia and Leo of ages six and two respectively in the bathtub.

The father of the children Kevin Krim is an executive producer at CBNC. The news network released a statement of condolence and support to the family, "The bodies of two children Lucia and Leo of ages six and two respectively were discovered in the bathtub," as reported by ABC News.
