As Cloud Strife DLC is now made available for the massively popular Super Smash Bros. 4, two new more characters are on their way to join the brawl next month namely, Platinum Games' Bayonetta and Fire Emblem character Corrin.
These two new playable characters were revealed as segment in Nintendo Direct December broadcast's comprehensive final video presentation for Wii U and 3DS fighting game, Super Smash Bros. 4
Game creator Masahiro Sakurai who hosted the anticipated event detailed Cloud Strife DLC and how the Final Fantasy 7 protagonist takes part in the world of the brawler game. He stated in the video, "Adding this character seemed all but impossible, but we made it happen. We had a lot of requests for 'Final Fantasy' characters to join 'Smash Bros.' but among all of them, Cloud has been requested the most."
In addition, Corrin from Fire Emblem was also confirmed to be playable, either male or the female version but both performing identically the same. Corrin will be able to use the final form of the Yato blade, the Omega Yato.
The new character can also transform into a dragon with the use of the Dragon Fang. In dragon form, Corrin can use body parts of the dragon like wings and the long reach for attacks. Such are the Dragon Fang Shot which can paralyze or bite enemies and Dragon Ascent which makes full use of the wings. The fighter's final smash is called Torrential Roar where several opponents can be pulled in dealt with finishing blows all together with a whirl of water.
Despite that Corrin will not have a themed stage, Nintendo will add a new Fire Emblem music to the new DLC for any Fire Emblem stage in the game. Ryoma and Xander trophies will also be added for 3DS version.
In a separate announcement, Sakurai has also confirmed Bayonetta as another new playable character who became popular hack and slash game series of the same name. According to The Verge, the superstar witch is the final character DLC addition to the roster. A trailer showed her skills and abilities including other items that will be available for download this coming February.
Bayonetta will use all kinds of gun attacks, from both hands and feet, and her ability called 'Witch Time', Kotaku This ability allows her to slow down an opponent and make an epic destruction.
According to Nintendo, fans across Europe voted for her to the top position in the Smash ballot, although, she only ranked 5th in the U.S. Just like Cloud, Bayonetta will be available for Wii U or 3DS at $5.99.
Both Corrin and Bayonetta DLC will be downloadable for Smash Bros. 4 next month. Stay tuned for more news and updates.
