Guns N' Roses headlines Coachella 2016; LCD Soundsystem reunion also in the list

By

The Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival this 2016 will be headlined by the original line-up of Guns N' Roses. This includes founding members Slash and Axl Rose.

The New York Times reported that there has been some buzz for months now about the possible reunion of the phenomenal rock band. The chances heightened when original lead guitarist Slash said during interviews that he had finally patched things up and reconciled with lead singer Axl Rose, ending their feud for two decades.

Billboard first announced that Guns N' Roses will return and was looking to book a major stadium tour this year. They are talking about playing 25 stadium shows in North America next summer. Once that happens, it can be considered as one of the biggest rock tours in years. They will also be one of the first acts to open the new Las Vegas Arena on April 6.

The Guns N' Roses website was recently updated and decorated as well with their original logo which is guns wrapped in roses. Also, their official Facebook page, according to NME, was updated with a new profile picture and cover photo showing a crowd. This made fans speculate that the Los Angeles rockers have plans in embarking on a world tour. The last time that the band's original line-up performed together was still last July 17, 1993 in Argentina.

The Coachella Festival has always had a history of enticing reunions of several bands. They reunited Rage Against The Machine (in 2007), My Bloody Valentine (in 2009), Pulp (in 2012) and Outkast (in 2014) to name a few. Aside from Guns N' Roses, the Coachella Festival will also have the return of the dance-rock band LCD Soundsystem, which is led by James Murphy. The comeback of the said group circulated last December 24 after they released a new single entitled "Christmas Will Break Your Heart" on their website.
