It is in the year 2015 when the Japanese tech giant Sony released its newest flagship line-up Xperia Z5. Now, the company is expected to launch five smartphones under its Xperia Z6 series, one of which is the Xperia Z6 Lite that is believed to sport a 5-inch display and the Snapdragon 650 chipset.
According to International Business Times, Sony will release five models of the Xperia Z6 lineup. This includes a flagship with 5.2-inch display, a smaller device called Xperia Z6 Mini with 4-inch display, a 4.6-inch screen clad Xperia Z6 Compact, a 5.8-inch Xperia Z6 Plus and a 6.4-inch display clad Xperia Z6 Ultra. A leaked roadmap pertaining to T-Mobile however, hints that there might be no Xperia Z6 Mini; only the usual Z6 Compact lined up.
With the number of models coming down to four, two of the above mentioned handsets are reported to be powered by Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 820 processor. White one will apparently use the Snapdragon 652 SoC also known as Snapdragon 620.
NDTV Gadgets stated that a new report has surfaced stating that the Sony Xperia Z6 will include one more variant which is named Xperia Z6 Lite. The rumored Sony Xperia Z6 Lite might feature a 5-inch display and will fall between the Xperia Z6 Compact and the Xperia Z6. This device is also speculated to bear a metal rear panel.
Christian Post added that the Sony Xperia Z6 Lite will be engineered with a hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 processor. When it comes to the price, the Z6 Lite is rumored to cost $385, which is approximately Rs 25,500. It is expected to be announced sometime in May, together with the other variants in the Z6 series.
The Sony Xperia Z6 line-up has been rumored but still Sony hasn't confirmed anything yet so when it comes with the Xperia Z6 Lite model, fans of the Japanese tech should treat this information with a grain of salt.
