Israel-Hamas Conflict: Tel-Aviv Bombing Complicates Cease-Fire

By

A bomb exploded in the central of Tel-Aviv, Israel's second most populous city, and wounding 15 people on Wednesday morning. Israeli officials say Hamas' terrorists perpetrated the attack that left four people seriously injured and 11 lightly injured.

Hamas spokesman Sami Abu Zuhri said of the attack "Hamas blesses the attack in Tel Aviv and sees it as a natural response to the Israeli massacres...in Gaza...Palestinian factions will resort to all means in order to protect our Palestinian civilians in the absence of a world effort to stop the Israeli aggression," as reported by Reuters.

The attacks could complicate the cease-fire, which was supposedly to be implemented today.

Egypt President Mohammed Morsi told reporters that a truce between Hamas and Israel was soon to take effect. President Morsi told Reuters reporters Tuesday morning, that the negotiations between the two parties would yield "positive results." According to various sources, the cease-fire is likely to take place Wednesday.

According to IBT India Times, the death toll in Palestine is currently 110. See pictures here.

The United Nation's Secretary General, Ban Ki-Moon arrived in Cairo, Egypt on Monday to facilitate peace talks over a cease-fire between Gaza and Israel.

After a meeting with the Egyptian Prime Minister, Hesham Kandil, who was key facilitator in Hamas-Israeli talks, Hamas Leader, Khaled Meshaal, told reporters, "We don't accept Israeli conditions because it is the aggressor," he told reporters in Egypt. "We want a cease-fire along with meeting our demands ... Israel has to stop killing and assassinating our leaders. They have to stop the invasion and end the blockade on Gaza," as reported by Reuters.

Meshaal also told CBS reporters, "If God is willing, the American people will wake up and realize that it will benefit them to support the 350 million Arabs, not Israel, to be with the 1.5 billion Muslims and not Netanyahu's gangs ... Don't reverse the picture. The killer should offer this peace, not the victim," as reported by CBS News.

On Sunday, Israeli militant forces began attacking homes of, which it believed to be, Hamas leaders.

Aljazeera reports that Israeli military has targeted media buildings. Monday is the sixth day of this conflict.

When asked, if a possible truce between Hamas and Israel was nearing, Meshaal responded, "Maybe today or tomorrow...or maybe never," as reported by CBS News.
