The latest Android 6.0.1 update has reached several Nexus phones earlier this month and included several new features, and brought back the Until Next Alarm feature in the Do Not Disturb mode. However, the revived feature seem to have gone back to being nonexistent as several users witnessed the disappearance of the feature during Christmas.
As reported by Gadgets 360, the new update revived the Until next alarm feature which brought delight to many users as it is used to block unnecessary alarms within the next 12 hours until the user's next alarm.
However, the feature reportedly vanished recently with some users even witnessed it disappear on the screen. According to Android Police, the suspected bug does not only affect a specific model as various complaints have been received from different users such as those of Nexus 6P, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6, and Nexus 5.
It also reportedly affect not only those with Android 6.0.1 Update as users with Android 5.1 Lollipop reported the same issue as well. Aside from suspicions of a bug in the system, Android Central reported that the disappearance of the feature might also have to do with a data-base kill switch.
Although the specific cause of the malfunction has not been specified yet, several temporary solutions have been suggested for the bug. Some users suggested rebooting the device which reportedly revived the feature, while others indicated that turning off its automatic date function, and setting it on a date before its disappearance in December 25 also works.
The Until Next Alarm feature in Do Not Disturb mode was first revealed in the Android 5.1 version. It was left out when the Android 6.0 Marshmallow came out, but has been restored with the Android 6.0.1 version. Google has not released a statement about the disappearing feature, but it is speculated to be fixed after new year.
