After the release of 'Mad Max' now comes the rumored sequel with a subtitle 'The Wasteland'. Actress Charlize Theron is also rumored to not be part of the next sequel.
In an interview with director George Miller last Novemeber about the title, he said that they are definitely into discussing about making more Mad Max. However, as for the timing, he is not quite sure. The release of 'Mad Max: Furry Road' after 15 years into production did not disappoint its audiences despite the long wait. As stated by Movie Pilot, it was one of 2015's critically acclaimed movies with high octane, car chasing, busting action sequence with a moving plot. And the demand for a sequel is high as well however, considering the production gap, it is not easy to expect another sequel in any time in the next year. Might as well wait for director and story writer George Miller's plans about the movie for he surely has several more stories planned for Mad Max added Movie Pilot.
Although the film would still be directed and written by Miller, the news regarding the actors and actresses reprising their characters hasn't been fully confirmed. However, Miller said that Charlize Theron will not be part of the next sequel although there will be parts wherein Max (to be played by Tom Hardy) and Furiosa (played by Charlize Theron) would interact. Nonetheless, Furiosa could still possibly be in the future movie. Film also added that even though Furiosa might not be in the following sequel, the story could still go on with the adventures of Max meeting new characters and exploring new territories. Miller was also guaranteed to be able to produce new characters as captivating as Furiosa through her absence.
Although there has been not much information about the upcoming sequel of Mad Max, director George Miller surely has plans about the next sequels or was he just avoiding giving spoilers about the movie?
