'John Wick 2' Update: Team behind 'Matrix' to join in the sequel; Reeves on the move to finish filming

John Wick 2 is the sequel to the neo-noir action thriller film that starred Keanu Reeves as the ex-hitman that was released in 2014. The sequel is now moving to cast a former member of Reeves' trilogy, The Matrix and its team. Moreover, news about the filming stated that Reeves finished it before hitting the Holidays.

The action thriller film is back with to provide another taste of violence by the assassin, John Wick and with him is the former production team of The Matrix trilogy. According to Cross Map, a mini Matrix reunion has been spotted on the set of the film. Fans of the former trilogy is expected to see Laurence Fishburne, played Morpheus, in the sequel but his character is still undisclosed. The two men are seen shooting scenes in New York with Keanu Reeves. However, due to minimal reports, Fishburne is speculated to be back as a cameo only.

Also, as Ecumenical News reported, Fishburne might have found new home as some of the people working the John Wick have been with him during the Matrix Trilogy. The director of the upcoming film is Chad Stahelski who was the original stunt double for Neo in the first film of The Matrix and worked as his stunt doubles. Furthermore, co-director David Leitch also did some fine stunt works in the two sequels, The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions.

Though John Wick 2's plot is still covered by the studio and characters are vague, the production of the film has wrapped it up in New York. The photos of actor's last day of filming for the set in New York City's Central Park have emerged in the reports of Just Jared. 15 photos was shared online stating that this will be the concluding filming for the year before hitting the holidays. The production crew will continue its action to Italy by next year.

John Wick 2 is the anticipated film sequel to the action thriller about an assassin who refrained to comeback from his former ways. The original film is met with praising comments after its release in 2014. Now, the sequel is looking to add characters that it may continue the strong start in the presence of Reeves' co-Matrix development team. The upcoming film will feature Reeves' as the returning role while Common as the main antagonist. Lastly, actors such as Bridget Moynahan, John Leguizamo and Ian McShane are going to reprise their roles.
