A lady from Murrells Inlet has been charged with felony DUI and other related offenses after her car crash in Horry County, South Carolina kills another woman and sends two persons, including a child, to the local hospitals. This happened in the early morning of December 26, Saturday, on 501 near the Pee Dee Road.
ABC 15 News revealed the identity of the lady who is currently in the custody of the South Carolina Police as 48-year-old Susan Annette Nevitt. As reported by the South California Highway Patrol, the incident took place around 1:30 a.m. Nevitt's 2013 Dodge Durango crossed the center line of the Pee Dee Road which was near 501 at that time. It collided directly with the 2012 Toyota SUV which was entering from the opposite direction.
While Nevitt survived the accident, the lady who was seated on the passenger seat of the SUV did not and died soon after she was rushed to the hospital. WBTW News 13 identified this lady as Jessie Mae Jameson who comes from Effingham, South Carolina. Jameson was not wearing a seatbelt and her death was attributed to injuries that came from the crash.
WFBM News added that Jameson is about 70 years of age. It also enumerated the charges filed against Nevitt which are felony DUI resulting in death, felony DUI resulting in great bodily injury, child endangerment, committing certain drug/alcohol related vehicle offense with a minor in the vehicle, and open container of beer or wine in the motor vehicle. Nevitt was held in custody at the J. Reuben Long Detention Center and the investigation is currently ongoing.
The car crash also brought injuries to two other people. Neville's passenger, a 10-year-old boy, was taken to the Grand Strand Medical Center as well as the driver of the SUV that Nevitt's Dodge crashed into.
