Two teachers at a Georgia Christian school have been arrested just days apart for allegedly sexually abusing the same underage male student, state investigators confirmed.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation began looking into misconduct at Nathaniel Greene Academy in Siloam in June 2024 after receiving reports that a male student had been sexually exploited by a teacher.
The private K-12 Christian school, located about 80 miles east of Atlanta, came under scrutiny when one of its former educators, Bonnie Elizabeth Brown, 25, was accused of engaging in inappropriate physical contact with the student both at the school and off campus.
Brown was formally charged with improper sexual contact by an employee after the GBI confirmed her involvement with the student. Within days, a second arrest was made—60-year-old Sherri Delle Mauldin, another former teacher at the same school.
Mauldin now faces multiple felony charges, including statutory rape, aggravated child molestation and improper sexual contact. At the time of the offenses, the victim was reportedly under the age of 16.
Both women were taken into custody at the Greene County Sheriff's Office Jail. The GBI has confirmed that investigations into both cases are ongoing.
The victim's attorney emphasized that the abuse spanned both school grounds and private settings, underscoring concerns over lapses in safeguarding procedures. The school has not publicly responded.
