"The Voice" winner Jordan Smith's debut album is currently in the works! The new star is focusing on consolidating ideas for his imminent solo while looking forward to sharing a piece of his soul to his fans.
"I've already started working on it and I'm ready to get in the studio and write new music," Smith says in an interview. "It's from my heart and it comes directly from the center of who I am. I want to make music that is thought-provoking and emotionally provoking and connects with people on a human level."
Although Smith's coach Adam Levine stated that he had very little contribution to his win in the season nine of the coveted show, the champion still expressed his gratefulness to the Maroon 5 singer saying, "He's a very great coach, and he brought out things in me that I never realized were even a part of me."
Smith also talked about how Levine helped in shaping him as a musical artist telling an online publication that, "He showed me lots of things throughout the process, and he taught me lots of little lessons. But one of the greatest things he taught me was just when you have a gut feeling, sometimes you have to listen to it."
The writer of the song he sang at the finals "Mary, Did You Know" was revealed to have spoken to him on the phone which for the crowned winner was "a really cool moment for me to hear from him and have his seal of approval on that performance."
In the span of his venture in the singing contest, Smith has to thank the love of his life named Kristen Denny, his girlfriend, fondly speaking of her as he recalls that she has "been through it all with me and has been such a big support and foundation. To have her with me was so special."
The couple has been together for three years now and he is feeling determined to reach his goal with her by his side as he tells, "It's so full circle. She's so happy for me and she knows this is exactly what I've dreamed about."
Jordan Smith who took home the crown as the big winner for "The Voice" Season Nine will be releasing his first solo and debut album sometime next year. The said LP will include pop songs that he personally wrote and religious songs that he has passion for.
