Two years after the well-received The Banner Saga's released for Android, iOS, OS X, Linux and Windows in January 2014, the game will be coming to Playstation 4 and Xbox One on 2016. The game is also localized in different languages.

According to Christian Post, the Viking-themed tactical roleplaying The Banner Saga has its debut date for console version. The game will be available for downloads on January 12, 2016 for Playstation 4 and Xbox One.

The source further wrote that it took two years for Stoic Studio to get the game on platforms like Playstation and Xbox. The game was made available for Android, iOS, OS X, Linux and Windows in January 2014.

Daily Mirror confirmed that Publisher Versus Evil announced that 'The Banner Saga' will be launched on both PS 4 and Xbox One on January 12, next year. The launch for console is likely to extend the success of The Banner Saga 2 due for release also next year.

Both Publisher Versus Evil and Game Developer Stoic Studio are working out their best to make the game available for consoles following its success since 2014, the site added. The development of the game faced obstacles so the porting to Playstation 4 and Xbox One are getting postponed. Aside from high costs and time, problems on the actual porting and figuring hoe to fit the game into a console controller should also be considered.

Tech Times cited John Watson, the founder and technical director of Stoic saying "We have managed to merge the story and gameplay from Banner Saga with a refined controller interface to make it a very enjoyable console gaming experience."

The site wrote that game publisher announced the game is localized in French, German, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, and Italian languages. Stoic Studio and Versus Evil wanted fans to feel the epic Viking tale in their own language.

The Banner Saga will be available on January 12, 2016 for Playstation 4 and Xbox One.
