Senator Rand Paul Says No To $1.1 Trillion Worth of Bill

By

A bill that costs $1.1 trillion was returned to President Obama after receiving the minority of votes in the Congress. Senator Rand Paul was one of those who voted against the bill. He claimed that the bill was rushed and seemed that no one was able to thoroughly examine it.

Senator Rand was interviewed in The Cats Roundtable, a radio talk show in New York, which was noted in Fox News. He said, "It was over a trillion dollars, it was all lumped together, 2,242 pages, nobody read it." He even added that he did not have any idea regarding what the bill contains. The senator came up with such decision because there is a huge amount of money concerning the bill and no one has been able to examine it.

According to the related report, President Obama signed the legislation into law. The final version includes two bills which are $1.14 trillion government spending measure that will fund every Cabinet agency through September 2016 and $680 billion tax package which extends dozens of breaks and making some permanent.

Further, the bill received 316-113 vote in the House by Republicans and Democrats. The senate also voted 65-33, in which, majority of the votes are in favor of the House Speaker, Paul Ryan. The bill was then later returned to Obama.

On the other hand, Rand Paul also criticized Donald Trump's proposal of short-term ban on Muslim, according to Washington Times. The GOP front-runner also called for a massive airstrikes and strong military action. However, Paul said in the report, "Toppling secular dictators in the Middle East has only led to chaos and the rise of radical Islam." Paul even added that the U.S. should stop meddling by arming rebel fighters in the Middle East.

Meanwhile, President Obama does not have any statement regarding the $1.1 trillion bill that did not pass in the Congress. There is also limited information on the content of the bill.
