BTS or Bangtan Boys is the recent trend in K-Pop. The boy group recently beat out giant artists such as EXO, Psy, Girls' Generation subunit TaeTiSeo, and even the one-time boom girl group EXID in a music show in Korea called "Show Champion".
This is the seven-membered group's fourth win during the promotional cycle of their title track "Run" which debuted at "Mnet Asian Music Awards 2015" on December 2nd in Hongkong. The music video was released earlier on November 29th on Youtube.
With its non-stop promotion and album releases since 2013 with "No More Dream," the young singers are now reaping the success of their hardwork as they recentlyentered Billboard 200 with their latest album "The Most Beautiful Moment in Life Pt. 2" which debuted at No. 171 selling 5,000 copies.
This is not the first time that a K-Pop act has entered Billboard 200 as groups from the two largest entertainment agencies in K-Pop SM and YG had done so in the past such as EXO, Girls' Generation and its subunit TaeTiSeo, BIGBANG, G-Dragon, 2NE1, and Taeyang but BTS appears to be the first among K-Pop acts to reach the said chart that is coming from a small agency.
Additionally, BTS also broke into "Heatseekers Albums" and "World Albums Charts" and even ranked number one on "World Digital Songs." It was also revealed that the group has earned the 98th spot on the list of top album sales in the United States.
Before getting busy in their overseas schedule, BTS promoted their title track on weekly music shows in their native country and has won their first trophy from SBS MTV's "The Show" on December 8th.
BTS initially beat Psy on the top spot of the December 11th episode of KBS "Music Bank." The youngest Jungkook then showed some weird and sensual dance moves to thank fans for the support they received.
On their fourth win, member Jimin tweeted a picture of their two "Show Champion" trophies with the group's name replaced with their official fan club's name and wrote a caption, "Congrats, you received an award, ARMY" making the fans' hearts swell with appreciation for the humble and sweet gesture of BTS.
