The defense team of James Egan Holmes, alleged Colorado shooter, has filed a request Wednesday to delay a court hearing set for October 25.
The motion comes after both prosecutors and defense requested the court not release names of the victims to the media. According to Westword.com the motion reads:
"The amount of time, effort and resources the defense is devoting to responding to the media's demands for information are beginning to interfere with the defense's ability to perform its obligation to provide constitutionally effective representation to Mr. Holmes."
In addition to media problems, defense also said it needs extra time to study all evidence, stating "counsel is simultaneously in the process of conducting important investigation, attempting to read and digest over 18,000 pages of discovery, researching and preparing to litigate upcoming legal issues, and responding to pleadings filed by additional third parties outside of this case," according to website.

Recently, Prosecutors have added 14 additional charges against Holmes. Prosecutors have also amended five of the other charges pitted against him in a Thursday hearing. Holmes has already been charged with 12 counts of murder and 116 counts of attempted murder.
Currently, the alleged shooter Holmes is being held in a detention facility of Arapahoe County in solitary confinement. Eighteenth Judicial District Attorney Carol Chambers told News Day that she is considering pursuing the death penalty, but only after consulting with the victims and their families.
On July 20, at a midnight screening of the cult-inducing Dark Knight Rises film at a movie house in Aurora, Colorado, Holmes, opened fire killing 12 people and injuring 59 others. He was arrested that morning and placed in custody.
