The photos were taken by photographers for the Associated Press, who were covering the riots in key cities across Brazil, including in Belo Horizonte, last year in protest over the national government's handling of public issues like transportation, health services, education and security despite amassing revenues thanks to the heavy tax burden levied. Around a hundred thousand people that day had marched in the streets in what initially was a peaceful protest. It turned ugly when some protesters started clashing with police.

The Telegraph said that the dramatic footage was aired during the primetime slot, had shown the South African athlete stumbling forward awkwardly without his prosthetic legs and holding his arm out in front of him as if he was holding the gun that killed Steenkamp.

The video, which is made available on YouTube, also came with the following message that read, "On June 29, thousands of Apple employees and their families marched in the San Francisco Pride Parade. They came from around the world - from cities as far as Munich, Paris, and Hong Kong - to celebrate Apple's unwavering commitment to equality and diversity. Because we believe that inclusion inspires innovation."
