Three people have been arrested in connection with the killing of a Syrian journalist in southern Turkey. Naji al-Jarf, the editor of Syrian pro-opposition magazine Hinta, died after being shot in the street in the city of Gaziantep in December.
The arrest of two suspected Iraqi terrorists has sparked renewed debates on Syrian refugees coming in United States. Republicans, mainly those from Texas where one of the Iraqi nationals was arrested, have been vocal on their concerns against US federal government’s decision to let Syrian refugees come in.
President Obama signs changes in Visa Waver Program (VWP). The bill includes a requirement for individuals to get a visa for U.S., especially those who visited Syria, Sudan, and Iraq since March 2011.
